Job Function: (Business Operations Communication)

Responsible for managing our line of business internal communications team which includes writing, editing, formatting, and distributing the publications targeting front line colleagues and support teams; redesigning as necessary to better serve the internal audience; tracking readership data and collaborating with technical team to consistently improve distribution and engagement.

Creates, manages and implements internal communications plans for the line of business, leads a line of business focused Communications Council and provides editorial guidance as needed, for internal stakeholders across support teams and lines of business to ensure organizational readiness and employee engagement for initiatives, product launches, marketing campaigns, procedural/policy changes, etc. Acts as central gatekeeper for all initiatives being communicated and launched to the front-line colleagues ensuring they are streamlined, simplified and fit within capacity.Collaborates with Corporate Communications as necessary to ensure message alignment and maximize impact.

Responsibilities

  • The Manager of Business Operations Communication will manage, develop and supervise direct report staff including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  • Plan and implement systems that perform the work and fulfill the mission and the goals of the department efficiently and effectively.
  • Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
  • Create and distribute business line communications such as Branch Monthly Game Plan, Retail Ready, Weekly Communication Highlights and other venues of informational communication in support of CBB’s Sales and Service Strategies.
  • Development of tactical plans for quarterly campaigns focusing on a simple set of behaviors, routines and tools.
  • The position will maintain a strong connection to ongoing execution in the field, be proactive to needs and opportunities, by developing a structured execution plan for all deliverables within demanding time constraints.
  • Manages change within the programs and evaluates risks and assesses potential impacts on delivery to the various business channels.
  • Responsible for communication implementation and ongoing management of major initiatives across all Lines of Business within CBB.
  • Evaluates, reviews and edits communications and materials for quality, completeness, accuracy and alignment with established brand standards.
  • Generates compelling, engaging content to support content-driven integrated strategy, and helps identify the most effective communication channels to reach relevant target groups and help to feed these channels with the appropriate messaging.
  • Develops, writes and edits presentations, talking points, Q&A’s, emails, articles for various business initiatives, business changes, and procedural changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Communications related field
  • 5-7 years previous Retail Banking Experience
  • 3-5 of experience in process or communication development 
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications
  • Thrives within a teamwork environment
  • Experience developing and implementing communication strategies
  • Collaborative approach to working with colleagues and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written/oral communications, research and proofreading skills 
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems quickly and effectively 
  • Strong project management skills with an exceptional attention to detail
