This position is for a 10 week Summer Internship. 

Essential Functions

·Some responsibilities of the Corporate Communications Summer Internship role may include but are not limited to:

·This position is responsible for Writing content, in particular the employee engagement pieces we can never get to (success stories, employee profiles, “human interest,” event wrap-ups, SPF stories, StarmeUp highlights, initiative updates, interviews, etc.)

·Editing content – support reading the content with an eye not just for spelling, syntax and structure, but also just good storytelling, effective corporate communication and audience value

·Publishing content –in the daily publishing of content, including posting of stories and photo reel content, but also managing newsletter pages, daily news clips, policies, updating pages as required by departments, etc.

·Design support – Finding and editing images for stories, creating banners and logos for the site, keeping email headers up-to-date and creating new ones, controlling and updating email templates, and quality control on the design of those completed emails for USLT, Facilities, Tech and other common depts. we send notices out for

·Distribution support – Sending out USLT memos, company-wide notes, initiative emails (e.g., BYOD) and other emails that Corp Communications are responsible for

·As needed proofreading of presentations, articles, emails, video captions, communication plans, websites and applications, and other pieces of content from across the company (this is an almost daily request of me right now)

·Supporting events and other communication needs of the group, including public relations

Responsibilities

·Support a strong content strategy for our digital properties that drives people to the sites

·Support a pipeline of content that adheres to that strategy and manage that content through the editorial process to final publication

·Manage digital projects independently, ensuring all parties (vendors, internal, etc.) are meeting expectations and keeping to deadline

·Be the resident writing style and tone expert across all of Santander and keeper of our internal style guide

·Coordinate entity communications teams on San US-wide initiatives and help to develop a unified culture and approach to messaging (including distribution)

Qualifications

·Currently enrolled in a University or College bachelors program

·Expected graduation date between December 2019 – May 2020

·Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

·Communications experience, with experience in journalism, English, marketing, web publishing, traditional publishing or related field

·CMS experience, especially WordPress

·Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·Experience writing and editing in AP Style

·Experience with HTML, web analytics, video production, photography and design a plus

·Strong attention to detail in regards to project planning and documentations

·Exceptional Work Ethic

·Display willingness to help others, a pleasant personality, a courteous manner, and a professional demeanor
